There are advantages to taking the long road home: you learn a lot along the way. You master your craft. You become more human. You end up where you truly belong.
Mandy is without a doubt where she is today – working as a sought after, respected, and certified business coach – thanks to staying true to her personal journey.
Like all successful people in business, Mandy’s paid her dues. She can still remember when she first got into the newspaper industry. She was excited to follow in her father’s footsteps, except things didn’t go as planned. Mandy ended up selling ads on the road. She hated selling. Hated the rejection. Had trouble making the calls and she cried everyday. But, she never gave up.
Learning to overcome her fear of sales, Mandy’s career in the newspaper business took off and she spent two decades as a leading executive in the industry. During her tenure, Mandy learned what it’s like to work in an uninspiring environment and in a tough economy. She also learned not to accept these conditions. Mandy took initiative, and learned to do more with less. Her gift (and passion) focused on developing people – recognizing and bringing out the best in them. Working at over ten different newspapers, she became known for her ability to “fix” departments and people.
Mandy has an uncanny ability to connect with people, to see their strengths, and to help them reach their full potential. This ability – this passion – is what drove Mandy to leave one successful career for another.
Fourteen years ago, after reading an article in the Boston Globe about coaching, Mandy hung up her newspaper hat and earned her coaching certification. Ever since, she has served as a catalyst for positive change by partnering with entrepreneurs to help them define and realize their vision for themselves and their businesses.
Perhaps Mandy’s greatest attribute is simply her belief in people. She believes we are all here to serve in a really, really big way and share our gifts with the world. Drawing on this belief, as well as on Mandy’s expertise, experience, and intuition, clients who engage with Mandy always uncover strengths and gifts they didn’t even know they had – and discover how to use them to create successful businesses and lives.
Underlying everything she does is an unwavering commitment to compassion, curiosity, authenticity, and integrity.
Mandy offers one-on-one coaching, teleclasses, workshops, mastermind groups and speaks on a variety of topics. She is a graduate of Coach U and a certified practitioner of the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. She lives with her husband and two sons in Yarmouth, Maine.
